AstonEco Management

AstonEco Management

is about creating realities for the sustainable development of organisations, businesses, communities and projects. This is done through mobilising stakeholders, expertise and governance to implement multi-disciplinary projects that ensure the necessary organisational success. The projects or organisations vary in complexity, but the key to our work is always to facilitate involved companies, communities, authorities, and related organisations, to enhance their sustainable development capability and capital / resources. Essentially, this is organisational / project development with stakeholder engagement at its centre.

University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna

The fundamental strategic positions and the mission of the FH bfi Vienna are laid down in the mission statement. Based on this, the degree programmes can specialise in relation to their professional fields. Medium-term aims are established in the FH's strategic concepts according to the mission statement.

Mission

With our degree programmes we offer academically well-founded professional education -- also to working people and to people without school-leaving exams who can then develop into internationally competent specialists and managers. It is a major concern for the FH bfi Vienna to encourage both male and female students and students from various cultural backgrounds according to their needs. Through our courses and further education programmes for our graduates (but not only for those!), we facilitate encounters in the "scientific community“.

ISO 26000

ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, has decided to launch the development of an International Standard providing guidelines for social responsibility (SR).

The guidance standard will be published in 2010 as ISO 26000 and be voluntary to use. It will not include requirements and will thus not be a certification standard.

There is a range of many different opinions as to the right approach ranging from strict legislation at one end to complete freedom at the other. We are looking for a golden middle way that promotes respect and responsibility based on known reference documents without stifling creativity and development.

Our work will aim to encourage voluntary commitment to social responsibility and will lead to common guidance on concepts, definitions and methods of evaluation.

The need for organizations in both public and private sectors to behave in a socially responsible way is becoming a generalized requirement of society. It is shared by the stakeholder groups that are participating in the WG SR to develop ISO 26000: industry, government, labour, consumers, nongovernmental organizations and others, in addition to geographical and gender-based balance.
